Iran Press/Europe: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said that the visit happens after the French Foreign minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian has invited Mohammad Javad Zarif to come where G7 summit is taking place.
After his arrival, Zarif has met and talked with French Foreign minister in Biarritz city, Iran Press reported.
The French President, Emanuel Macron said on Aug. 25 that G7 leaders had agreed on joint action on Iran with the aim of defusing tensions and opening a new negotiation with Tehran.
After a short stay in Biarritz, Zarif will return to Tehran tonight to head to Beijing.
"There will be no talks with the US delegation," Mousavi noted.
Zarif's visit to Biarritz is aimed at the pursuit of European commitments and the P4+1 in the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Seven of the world's top industrial countries, namely Germany, Japan, Italy, UK, Canada, France, and the US gathered on Saturday night with the French president as the chairman of the summit.
