Iran Press/Iran news: Heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, Mohammad Javad Zarif departed Tehran on Monday afternoon, heading to New Delhi, India.
The Iranian foreign minister was surprised however when the cabin crew and flight attendants produced a birthday cake complete with flowers and candles to celebrate his birthday on 7th January, Iran Press reported.
Zarif cut his birthday cake and gave a speech to top businessmen and industrialists accompanying him to New Delhi.
Foreign Minister Zarif has embarked on a three-day visit to India, where he is expected to meet senior Indian officials, participate in a joint business forum attended by the businessmen of the two countries, and deliver a speech at the annual Raisina Dialogue conference in New Delhi.
India, Iran’s second biggest oil customer after China, has been granted a sanctions waiver to import some 300,000 barrels per day of Iranian oil for 180 days, starting from 5 November 2018.
