Zarif's Dep. visits Armenia; emphasising withdrawal of terrorist groups from region

During his visit to Armenia, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for International and Legal Affairs met with Deputy Foreign Minister Armen Ghevondyan and Deputy Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Artak Apitonian.

Iran press/ Asia: During the meetings, the two sides reviewed legal cooperation, the situation on the Aras River, and human rights issues, calling the presence of terrorist groups in the region unacceptable and stressing their withdrawal from the region.

The Iranian diplomat also met with Armen Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Regional Management and Infrastructure of Armenia, and issues such as unblocking the trilateral transportation routes of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan were examined.

The two sides also discussed cooperation between the two countries in establishing a north-south route in Armenia, the regional countries' plans to establish a convenient route between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea, and cooperation between the two countries in the field of transport and infrastructure.
