Iran Press/Iran News: During the meeting in Tehran on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi discussed bilateral relations and regional issues, especially the reduction of tension in the Persian Gulf region.
Earlier, Pakistani Foreign Minister said in a statement that Pakistan will continue to play its role in the reduction of tension in the region.
Prior to this meeting Pakistani foreign minister also met with the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. He called his meeting with the president as "constructive and positive".
"Reiterated effort to deescalate tensions to the President which he supports. We are committed to exercising every diplomatic effort to achieve regional security and are clear Pakistan soil will not be used for war," Shah Mahmood Qureshi wrote on his twitter page.
During the meeting, President Hassan Rouhani said Tehran believes divisions within the Islamic Ummah is in the interest of no one, and in this regard, Iran fully welcomes Pakistan's efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
