Iran Press/Europe: "I believe that the world's biggest problem today is incorrect understanding about the current situation," Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Monday.
"Persian Gulf littoral states also have no proper understanding of the regional and global situation," Zarif added according to Iran Press.
The illusion of regional hegemony has escalated conflicts, Zarif said, noting that for the same reason, role of the people with a deep understanding of current international developments would be of great importance.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also said that Iran-Russia relations have expanded in all fields more than ever.
Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with well-known Russian Iranologists who gathered at the Iranian embassy in Moscow.
"Development of Iran-Russia cultural relations will help us make less strategic mistakes," he said, noting that's for the same reason leaders of the two countries have decided to enhance ties to a higher level.
The US moves against Iran, Russia and China have helped to develop a better understanding of today's ties, as Russia and China have turned from yesterday's rivals to today's enemies and Iran stands alongside the countries in the viewpoint of the US, Iranian Foreign Minister said.
Describing Iran, Russia, and China as powerful countries standing against US hegemony, Zarif, said, "I believe our Chinese and Russian friends similarly believe that the era of US hegemony is over but the US has its own dreams."
Today, the US has turned all international deals into an instrument to benefit United States and this will be very dangerous for the future of the world and even the US itself, he said.
