Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's vice president in charge of science and technology, Sourena Sattari in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Thursday emphasized that Iran has done serious work in cognitive sciences in the past few years, saying manpower is the key infrastructure required for progress in cognitive sciences, and it takes time to train and educate young people in this field. Fortunately, good things have happened in this field.
According to an Iran Press report, Sattari added: "It takes time to train such a workforce. We are focusing on young people from high school to university students and graduates. We need young people who decide at a certain age that they want to do research in the cognitive sciences. This research can be either in universities and academia or in hi-tech knowledge-based companies."
We are investing in building infrastructure, setting up laboratories, and also we are investing in research institutes and all this adds up to a well-trained, innovative, creative, specialist, and expert workforce which is doing great research in the cognitive sciences.
Sattari stressed that the process of training an educated workforce is considered a long term project.
Sattari also emphasized that investment in underlying infrastructure in laboratories and research centers is very important.
Sattari's comments came on the sidelines of Brain awareness week ceremony held in Tehran on Wednesday, 27 February 2019.
