Iran Press/ Iran news: In a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Hassan Mahmoudon on Saturday, Ali Akbar Velayati said that the Syrian people of all ethnicities will defend their country as a single nation.
He further stated: "The main policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to support the Syrian people and its government and to continue cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism until they are eliminated."
"Now Syria can respond to threats more than ever," Velayati added, emphasizing Syria's role in Axis of Resistance.
The Syrian ambassador to Tehran also presented a report on regional developments as well as recent events, appreciating Iran's stances in support of the Syrian people and the government.
Adnan Hassan Mahmoud also criticized Turkey's military action in Syria and said these actions violate international commitments.
