Iran Press/America: White House national security adviser, John Bolton said in an interview on 'Fox Business Network' on Wednesday that Russia, China, and European countries to continue their civilian nuclear cooperation with Tehran.
Bolton's comments came hours after Washington imposed sanctions on Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, a key figure in Iran's 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, which US President Donald Trump withdrew from last year and imposed the previous sanctions on the Iranian nation, Iran Press reported.
"For a president who says he is ready to talk with Iran without preconditions, sanctioning its foreign minister clearly undermines that objective, and risks dangerous escalation instead," said Wendy R. Sherman, the director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School.
In return, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the US sanctions has no effect on him or his family, as he has no property or interests outside of Iran.
Zarif made the comments on Twitter in resposne to the media reports that the United States imposed sanctions on him.
Last year, Trump abandoned the nuclear agreement, claiming that he wanted a bigger deal that limited Iran's nuclear program.
Iran has issued a stern warning to the European signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) giving them a 60-day period to fulfil their obligations, promises and commitments under the JCPOA, and warning them that Iran's patience has reached its limit, and Tehran now expects to see the European signatories to the agreement implement their obligations. The warning was issued on the first anniversary of US abrogation of the multilateral nuclear agreement, JCPOA.
Later on July 7, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran is going to take the second step towards the reduction of its commitments within JCPOA, with uranium enrichment exceeding the %3.67 percent limit. Today is the last day of a 60-day window of opportunity given to the Europeans and since Iran has not gained what it expects from its JCPOA commitments, it is to start the second phase of reducing its commitments, said Araghchi.
