Iran Press/ Asia: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Maki on the sidelines of the Shanghai Summit in Dushanbe.
Expressing the interest of the Islamic Republic of Iran in expanding comprehensive relations with Belarus, Amir-Abdollahian called for the holding of a joint commission of the two countries in the shortest possible time.
Amir-Abdollahian, referring to some problems of Iranian students studying in Belarus, called for an immediate solution to these problems, which was emphasized by both sides.
During the meeting, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Maki expressed satisfaction with the meeting with his Iranian counterpart, announced his country's readiness to hold a joint commission, and stressed Minsk's interest in developing relations with Tehran.
While appreciating the resistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the policy of unilateralism and US sanctions, he condemned the method of unilateralism as a failure.
