Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Rabiei

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Government Spokesman said that by any measure, the US policy of maximum pressure against the Islamic Republic of Iran has failed.

Iran PressIran News: "Unfortunately, the US government has lost its vision, and is unable to hear the views of American experts, nor can it address the realities of Iran," Ali Rabiei said in response to a question from Iran Press about US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's rhetoric against Iran.

The official added: "By any measure, the policy of maximum pressure has failed and Pompeo is still providing false information to the US President Donald Trump."

"Pompeo is determined to deceive his boss, and that is what John Bolton did for a year. We are in no hurry the US admits defeat. They can go on the wrong way as long as they want, and isolate the US and pay the price for it in the global equations," the Spokesman added.

In response to a question about his assessment of the Democratic Party's plan for the upcoming presidential election, in which the program emphasizes the return of the United States to the JCPOA and the continuation of diplomacy, Rabiei noted: "Regarding the recently released Democratic Party plan, we believe it is a small but positive step in understanding the realities of Iran, but it is still ambitious."
