Iran Press/Iran news: His [Hook’s] words indicate how he misunderstands the global conditions, and also how the US situation is unstable and uncertain in the world, Bahram Ghassemi said.
Ghassemi said so in response to Hook’s remarks that “…we are not looking to grant any new oil waivers,” Iran Press reported.
As Ghassemi said, Hook once again repeated the US hostile feelings about the Iranian people and voiced his country’s continuous efforts to put more sanctions pressure against the great Iranian nation.
Hook should understand that his country in today’s world cannot be able to dictate its will to other countries in order to achieve its sinister and inhuman goals, Ghassemi stressed.
Ghassemi further advised Hook to look at the international developments and also at what is happening in the world in order to get that the global developments are not in the path of what he and his country’s officials have dreamt.
By taking such behavior or making such remarks, Mr Hook and the American officials should wait for standing trial in front of all freedom-seeking people because of the US anti-human crimes and hostile measures against the great Iranian nation, he concluded.
US special representative for Iran said that the policy of his country is not looking to grant more waivers for Iranian oil imports.
Brian Hook noted that we did have to grant eight oil waivers in order to avoid shocking the global oil markets and causing a dramatic increase in the price of oil.
On May 2018, the US President Donald Trump withdrew from 2015 multilateral nuclear agreement, Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and re-imposed the sanctions that had been lifted under the accord.
Washington reinstated a series of unilateral sanctions against Iran in early August and re-impose a second batch in November which as Trump said the goal was bring Iranian oil export to zero.
But for neutralizing oil market shock and stopping rising oil prices, Washington grant waivers to eight Iranian oil buyers when the sanctions on oil imports started in November. exceptions granted for up to 180 days.105
