Iran Press/Middle East: Representatives from both the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Hamas rejected senior White House advisor - and US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law - Jared Kushner’s peace plan, even though only the economic part of the plan was revealed Saturday.
Hamas spokesman, Hazem Ghasem had a backlash to the announcement of new details on the so-called ‘deal of the century’, Iran Press reported.
He said: “Palestinians have been fighting hard to take back their land, to return to the place where they have been banished, and to establish an independent state with al-Quds being its capital.”
The White House on Saturday outlined a $50 billion Middle East economic plan which funds a $5 billion transportation corridor to connect the West Bank and Gaza.

The Hamas spokesman added: “Palestinians shall continue to fight against the Zionist regime until their racist schemes regarding the occupation of Palestine be neutralized.”
Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the PLO executive council and a negotiator, also said economic measures will not solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Only a political solution will work, she added.
“If they really care about the Palestinian economy they should start by lifting the siege of Gaza, stopping Israel stealing our money and our resources and our land and opening up our territorial waters, our air space, and our borders so we can freely export and import,” Ashrawi said.
Ashrawi called for the US to exert pressure on Israel to end Tel Aviv’s “occupation” of Palestinian territories, observing that the Trump team embarked on an “entirely wrong approach.” 104/214
