Iran Press/Asia: Warning the US about violating its sovereignty and territorial integrity, China vows Sanctions on US Firms Selling Arms to Taiwan.
The Chinese government announced on Friday that it may sanction US companies that sell arms to Taiwan, a measure that strains ties between the two countries more than before; a relation that experienced many ups and downs in last years.

Responding to US recent anti-China decision, the country’s Spokesman to foreign affairs ministry, Geng Shuang said that “Washington’s arms sale to Taiwan severely violates China’s sovereignty and security;” adding that “Taiwan is inseparable part of China and no one should underestimate the Chinese government's and people's firm determination to defend the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity and oppose foreign interference."
"In order to safeguard national interests, China will impose sanctions on US enterprises participating in this sale of weapons to Taiwan," he said.
The US has no official relation with Taiwan, but the country is the main weapon provider for the island and now, the State Department in Washington recently approved a US$2.2 billion package including 108 Abrams tanks and 250 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles.
China views Taiwan as a part of its territory and based on ‘one China’ policy, the island has no right to have diplomatic relation with other countries.
Nevertheless, the Trump administration’s approach toward the island represents its new hawkish anti-china policies, as, the US undersecretary for East Asia and Pacific Affairs Patrick Murphy asked for Washington’s insistence to recognize diplomatic ties with Taiwan.
Because of these irrational and greedy approaches of the White House toward China and other countries, many experts believe that US politicians have no flexibility to adapt and respond to real-world conditions more than ever before.
Although this unreasonable and greedy behavior from the US is not a new phenomenon, the recent measures show that the White House has increasingly become irrational and unreasonable; and given that most of the policies that the US is pursuing undermine principles of China’s sovereignty, there is no light at the end of the tunnel of the Sino-American relations and affairs. 212/ 104
