Iran Press/Europe: The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has issued a statement to the British Parliament, announcing that the government has ended its 20-year presence in Afghanistan.
London has previously acknowledged that the remaining 750 British troops in Afghanistan will leave the country.
Earlier, many NATO member states, including Italy, Norway, and Georgia, announced that they had withdrawn all their troops from Afghanistan.
Recently, NATO announced that by May 1, 2021, the member countries of this military organization would start withdrawing their troops from Afghanistan according to the scheduled plan, and this action will be done within a few months.
There are about 10,000 foreign troops from 36 countries in Afghanistan, led by the United States with 2,500 troops.
The United States and its allies invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under the pretext of fighting terrorism and providing security in Afghanistan, and this occupation has led to war, conflict, the destruction of Afghanistan's economic infrastructure, as well as insecurity, terrorism, and narcotics production.
Afghan officials have repeatedly stressed the need for foreign troops to leave the country. 219
