Polls opened at 8 am local time (05:00 GMT) on Sunday in Türkiye's runoff election in which Turks will be electing either Erdogan or Kilicdaroglu as president for a five-year term.

Iran PressAsia: In the first round of voting on May 14, Recep Tayyip Erdogan got 49.5 percent of support. Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the main opposition challenger, received 44.9 percent.

The elected president will set policy on Turkey’s economy, security, domestic and international affairs.

Ogan, who finished third in the first-round Turkish presidential election, has endorsed Erdogan in the run-off.

Ogan finished third with 5.17 percent, prompting some analysts to call him a potential “kingmaker.”

Analysts say it is not certain that all of Ogan’s supporters would go to Erdogan, adding that some were likely to shift to Kilicdaroglu while others might choose not to vote in the run-off.
