Iran Press/Iran news: Mohammad Eslami in an interview with Iran Press on Wednesday morning, after a cabinet session in Tehran, noted that Arbaeen pilgrims who are coming from eastern countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan to cross to Iraq via Iran are our brothers and sisters.
He went on to say, "We have special services for those who are supposed to pass through the Shalamcheh border."
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development added that over 40,000 Afghan and Pakistani pilgrims have passed through the international border of Shalamcheh, traveling by their own buses since the beginning of the Arbaeen ritual.
Mohammad Eslami concluded his remarks by saying, "I hope that they will experience a comfortable trip while they are transiting from Iran."
Millions of pilgrims are preparing to converge on the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala to attend Arbaeen mourning processions marking the fortieth day after the martyrdom of their third Imam, Hussein ibn Ali (PBUH).
Arbaeen, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
