Iran Press/Iran: three 10 Megawatt solar power electricity-generating power stations have already been constructed in the Mahan district of Kerman province. A further two 10 Megawatt solar power plants are currently under construction in Kerman province, one in "Bardsir" , and the other in "Baft".
Experts agree that the geography of Kerman province, and its year-round sunshine, makes it an ideal location for solar energy production. This is why a German firm, has decided to invest in solar energy in Mahan district of Kerman province, seeing a steady return on its investment over the next two decades and beyond.
Uwe Jorg Kuhnle, the managing director of German firm,Durion GmbH says: "Iran, especially Kerman province is a very good place for using photovoltaic cell technology to produce electricity. The province is very hot and benefits from all-year-round sunshine."
Another investor at the Mahan electricity-generating power plant, 'Mostafaie' says: "This is an ideal investment for any investor , since the return on your outlay is crystal clear for the next two decades".
An official in charge of planning and research at Kerman Electricity, 'Nakhaie' , commenting on the scope of the project said: "We have issued licences for production of over 4000 MW of electricity in Kerman province, 400 MW of which have led to signing of contracts for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Energy Purchase Agreements (EPAs), to guarantee purchase of electricity."
