Iran Press/Iran news: The Spokesman for the Majlis Economic Commission, Rahim Zare in an exclusive interview with Iran press news agency while referring to the fuel price hike which has been decided by the government said that the Parliamentary Economic Commission has been assigned to monitor and supervise the current prices of goods and commodities, ensuring that prices are stable.
He added: "Revenues from petrol price increase will be primarily used for the benefit of low-income families and the general public, and to a lesser extent will be used to create jobs for young people and to boost national manufacture and production."
The Senior Parliamentarian went on to say, "Unlike past occasions when fuel price rise always translated into an increase in prices of essential items, and price rise of all other goods, this time round prices will be carefully checked, and there will be no knock-on effect. The Parliamentary Econonic Commission, the Minister of Economy Farhad Dejpasand, and the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Reza Rahmani, and the Agriculture Ministry, have been invited to take the first step to carefully monitor and supervise prices to make sure other prices remain stable and do not rise".
The senior MP added: "The guilds are making serious oversight with a mission assigned by the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade. Anyone who wants to raise the price of goods should know that law enforcement agencies, price inspectors and price monitoring staff of guilds will investigate their violations, and will give back income generated from rising fuel prices to the people."
"We hope the rise in petrol price will have a positive overall effect on the lives of ordinary people and hopefully it will give an impetus to youth employment as well as boost national manufacture and production," Zare underscored. 101/211/205
