Kish (IP) - The 'Hackathon' started on Saturday at Sharif University of Technology International Campus on Kish Island, in southern Iran and will continue until Monday 29 April 2019.

Iran Press/Iran news:  2019 Hackahealth is hosted by the Sharif University of Technology-International Campus (SUTIC) on Kish Island as a centre for technology and innovation.

In this 72-hour marathon, sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology of Iran and the Kish Free Zone Organization, 120 participants as part of 20 Iranian and foreign teams compete with each other, Iran Press reported.

Hackahealth is a medical hackathon in which coding and medical experts get together as innovators to design solutions to the most critical issues of healthcare industry. The hackers or better known as programmers build their teams of 4 to 6 members and spend 3 days of intensive planning and programming to design, code and present their product (mobile app) to a panel of judges.

The first Iranian Hackahealth event was hosted by Abadan Medical University in 2016 with 21 teams, 6 technical mentors and 6 health mentors.
