Iran Press/ Europe: The Eurasian Economic Forum is an annual business event in the economic sector organized by the EAEU and hosted alternately by the EAEU member state currently chairing its entities - the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, and the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The First Eurasian Economic Council took place in Kyrgyzstan's Bishkek on May 26, 2022.
This year's forum is timed to coincide with a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council with the participation of heads of member and observer states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
"The subject of the forum is 'Eurasian integration in a multipolar world.' It fully meets the objectives of developing Eurasian integration at a time when the world is facing new challenges. The forum is intended to promote the idea of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as an association for integration in a multipolar world, and the improvement of cooperative ties in Eurasia," the press service for the Eurasian Economic Commission said.
"The objective of the Eurasian Economic Forum is to further develop economic cooperation between the EAEU member states, form reliable ties between economic entities, and achieving a synergistic effect that involves combining investment and innovative potential," Eurasian Economic Commission Board Chairman Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) says given the existing free trade agreement between Tehran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Iran intends to increase trade exchanges with the economic bloc by up to $10 billion within less than two years.
Iran is determined to develop strategic ties with the member states of the EAEU.
