Moscow (IP) - Russia and member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) talks kicked off on Monday in Moscow.

Iran PressEurope: Moscow hosted the sixth round of talks between Russia and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council member states.

The Persian Gulf Cooperation Council's meeting kicked off on Monday with the participation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the foreign ministers of the six countries in the bloc.

The talks between Russia and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council were suspended six years ago, since the start of the war in Syria.

Following the renovation of Syria's ties with the Arab League and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, Russia's relations with Arab countries are expanding rapidly.

The talks are held while the US and the Western countries seek to isolate Russia under the pretext of the Ukraine-Russia war.

During the negotiations between Sergey Lavrov and the foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council member countries, the main topics discussed were regional and international issues, and the strengthening of cooperation in the oil and energy sectors, mainly through OPEC Plus.

Negotiations included critical topics such as expanding political, economic, and security ties. Additionally, there were talks about enhancing security cooperation in the Persian Gulf region with the participation of Iran and neighboring countries.

Iran plays a vital role in developing commercial and economic relations between Russia and the countries of the Persian Gulf.
