Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking on the occasion of International Workers' Day, also known as Workers' Day, Labour Day or May Day, President Rouhani celebrated and praised labourers, factory workers, and the working class for their sincere efforts to increase production and manufacturing in the country.
According to an Iran Press report, addressing a ceremony for Worker’s Week on Tuesday, President Hassan Rouhani added: “Any production unit that increases its production capacity will receive more resources from the National Development Fund”.
Rouhani also referred to $40 billion non-oil exports, saying: “The goal that the United States seeks is to reduce our foreign currency revenues by stopping our oil exports. To prevent this, we need to increase our non-oil exports”.
The President went on to refer to the fourth year of self-sufficiency in wheat, adding, “This is what we need to avoid the need for foreign currency”.
Elsewhere in his remarks President Rouhani said more production means more self-sufficiency and a cheaper exchange rate.
“Today, 95 percent of our medicine is being produced domestically, and if we can produce the remaining 5 percent, this means that our need for foreign currency in this sector is removed,” he said. 103/211
