In a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Bucharest Hamid Moayyer in the Romanian Place of Parliament on Thursday, he hailed historic commonalities and long-time friendship between the two countries, stressing the need for promoting bilateral parliamentary relations.
Welcoming boosting of bilateral ties in economic, political, scientific and parliamentary fields, he added that the nuclear deal was beneficial to Iran’s economy, as it helped reinforce the country’s economic structure.
The Romanian official pointed to Iran’s effective role in settlement of Syrian crisis and said friendly countries should use modern and advanced technologies to reconstruct war-torn areas.
The Romanian Senate president highlighted Iran’s distinguished status in the Middle East, hoping that bilateral ties will further improve by using existing capacities and reinforcing parliamentary diplomacy.
Iran’s envoy, for his part, referred to Majlis’ (Iran’s parliament) resolve to promote parliamentary relations with Romania and said exchange of parliamentary delegations between Tehran and Bucharest are among the useful measures to expand bilateral relations.
Moayyer further noted that Iran’s Embassy in Romania is currently working to pave the way for a visit to Tehran of a Romanian parliamentary delegation.
