Tehran (IP) - The Iraqi ambassador to Tehran in an interview with Iran Press detailed the country's ties with Iran and said, relations between Iran and Iraq are historic and strategic.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Iraqi ambassador to Tehran Abdul-Rahman Saad Jawad Qandeel in an exclusive interview with Iran Press said: "Relations between Iran and Iraq are historic, strategic and very important. Our embassy in Tehran is the largest Iraqi embassy in the world and we have an exchange of delegations. Iraqi delegations to Iran and Iranian delegations to Iraq almost on a weekly basis. The relationships are economic, political-cultural as well as social between the two nations."

Iraqi ambassador went on to say about the resignation of Adel Abdul Mahdi as the Iraqi Prime Minister and said: "There will not be political deadlock or vacuum because there are all constitutional procedures to take care of the change of power. So now the Prime Minister has presented his resignation to the parliament. But he still continues in the power with all the cabinet as a caretaker government."
