Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking in a television interview aired on Friday, Jebelli said top media outlets in the world do not allow us to have activity in cyberspace, and when we enter this space, they shut down our pages.
Jebelli also expressed optimism about the effectiveness of social media. He said when Marzieh Hashemi was arrested, for the first time, we have seen that if we enter the right way and work with ideology, belief, and motivation, we can also penetrate the heart of America and become influential, Iran Press reported.
In further comments, Jebelli said pressure from Iranian and international media played a major role in securing the release of Press TV journalist Marzieh Hashemi.
The Head of IRIB World Service also repeated a comment by Marzieh Hashemi who had said many Americans were unhappy about the direction in which their country was going, adding that there were even concerns about "a civil war breaking out in the United States".
Hashemi, a 59-year-old American-born Muslim convert who has lived in Iran for years, was detained at St. Louis Lambert International Airport in Missouri on January 13th while in the US to visit her ill brother and other family members.
On Jan 24, 2019, the US government released Marzieh Hashemi without charge after 11 days of illegal detention. 101/ 211 /202
