England (IP) - The Iranian people living in London celebrated the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir in the Islamic Center of London.

Iran Press/Europe: The Shia Muslims mark Eid al-Ghadir, celebrating the appointment of Imam Ali (AS), Prophet Mohammad’s cousin and son-in-law as the first Imam to lead the Muslim nation.

The occasion is named after the event of Ghadir Khum when Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), in his last Hajj pilgrimage, introduced Imam Ali (AS) as his successor in a sermon delivered next to Ghadir Khum pond located between Mecca and Medina in 632 CE.

Iran Press has provided a video of the Eid al-Ghadir occasion in the Islamic Center of London, the UK.
