Iran Press/ Asia: A Pakistani court announced charges against former Prime Minister Imran Khan for making public the contents of a diplomatic cable to allegedly show his ouster from power last year was part of a conspiracy led by the U.S. and the South Asian country’s powerful military.
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan had been jailed in August 2023 for a period of three years over graft but later, his sentence was overturned and he was kept in custody on a more serious charge of leaking classified State documents.
Since being ousted from power last year, Khan has been tangled in a slew of legal cases he says are designed to stop him from contesting upcoming elections in January 2024. 219
