The 46th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) kicked off in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Iran Press/Middle East: The meeting is being held under the auspices of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on March 1-2 under the motto '50 Years of Islamic Cooperation: Road Map for Prosperity and Development'.

The agenda of the meeting is to consider issues related to expansion of cooperation among member states, the world and regional security and other international issues, Iran Press reported.

The OIC foreign ministers are also expected to discuss the latest developments in Palestine and the city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), as well as the so-called peace process in the Middle East.

Organization of the Islamic Cooperation was founded in 1967 in Rabat, capital of Morocco and has 57 Islamic member states.

The organization asserts that it is "the collective voice of the Muslim world" and works to "safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony." 101
