Srinagar (IP) - People in Srinagar Kashmir celebrated the Persian New Year, Nowruz, with traditional fervor.

Iran PressAsia: In Kashmir, it is considered the start of spring, and it is observed for nine days across India.

Children dress in new clothes and head to the parks to celebrate the festival. The day begins with special prayers, and during the day, friends and family visit each other.

People undergo leech therapy on the of Nowruz, which is thought to be a useful traditional remedy for many illnesses. According to practitioners, leech therapy can heal conditions like sinusitis, arthritis, skin conditions, and chronic headaches.
