Iran Press/ Europe: Permanent Representative of Russia to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov wrote in a Twitter message, "E3 and Iran try to launch from different perspectives Dispute Resolution Mechanism. Not a good idea."
Ulyanov added that "Instead of fruitless and potentially damaging disputes of this kind, all JCPOA participants need to think together how to preserve the nuclear deal which is in very bad shape."
Also, European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell as coordinator of the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) noted on Friday that "I have received today a letter from the Foreign Minister of Iran referring Iran’s concerns regarding implementation issues by France, Germany and the United Kingdom under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to the Joint Commission for resolution through the Dispute Resolution Mechanism, as set out in paragraph 36 of the agreement."
He further added, "As I have said previously, the Dispute Resolution Mechanism requires intensive efforts in good faith by all. As Coordinator of the Joint Commission, I expect all JCPOA participants to approach this process in this spirit within the framework of the JCPOA."
"The Joint Commission, which is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the agreement under the terms of the JCPOA, has met since 2016 to discuss the implementation of the JCPOA and address pertinent issues brought to the attention of the Coordinator by any participant," Borrell added.
US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from the international agreement on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in violation of Washington's commitments under the JCPOA, and announced the return of nuclear sanctions.
