Iran Press/ West Asia: The Israeli army spokesperson said nine soldiers were killed in Gaza Strip combat on Tuesday, while four others sustained severe injuries.

Two killed soldiers were from the 77th Battalion of the 7th Armored Brigade, while the rest of the soldiers were part of the Givati Infantry Brigade’s Tzabar Battalion.

The Givati soldiers were killed after an armored vehicle they were in was hit by an anti-tank-guided missile fired by Hamas. Another four soldiers were wounded in the same incident, including one seriously.

This week the Israeli army has expanded its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless airstrikes since the Palestinian resistance group Hamas launched a surprise offensive against Israel on Oct. 7.

21,543 other Palestinians were wounded.

The death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 8,525, including 3,542 children and 2,187 women, the Health Ministry in the blockaded enclave said Tuesday.
