Abuja (IP): In Abuja, Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, thousands of Muslims on Sunday evening celebrated the birth anniversary of the last Shi'a Imam, Muhammad Al Mahdi, grandson of the holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him and his Progeny).

Iran PressAfrica: After opening prayers and songs to praise the holy Household of the Prophet, youths from Jaish Sayyed Ahmad group were invited to display Karate martial arts and parade in honor of Imam Mahdi (as). Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, and his wife, Mu'allima Zeenah Ibrahim who returned to Nigeria on Wednesday from the Islamic Republic of Iran where they spent more than four months for medication, have attended the event.

The wife of Sheikh Zakzaky was seen walking with her legs, a clear indication that the medical surgery she had undergone in Iran was successful because she could only be pushed on a wheelchair before their trip to Iran due to multiple gunshots in her body by the Nigerian military during 2015 Zaria massacre.

In his speech at the occasion, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky talked about the importance of unity among Muslims as one of the necessary things needed to destroy the traps and evil plots of the world's arrogant powers and Zionists. He also urged Muslims from all schools of thought to pay attention to the saying of the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBH) that says "Whoever dies without knowing the Imam of his time, dies the death of ignorance."

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Mu'allima Zeenah Ibrahim, wife of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria described the Mid of Sha'aban as the day of hope for the oppressed people of the world." 15th of Sha'aban. It is the day that we celebrate the birth anniversary of Imam Zaman, (may Allah hasten his appearance).

And it is a day that we repay our allegiance to him. We can see how the world we are in is filled with injustice and oppression.

And it has been promised that at the end of the time, when the world is filled with injustice and oppression, Allah will bring a member of the Progeny of the Prophet who's the 12th Imam to come and liberate the people from the oppressions and tyranny. So, it is the day that we are celebrating his birthday and repaying our allegiance to him, and it is a day of hope for the oppressed people of the world," she added.

Imam Muhammad Mahdi was born to Imam Hassan Askary (as) and his wife, Narjis on the 15th of Sha'aban, 255 years after the migration of the Prophet. According to authentic traditions of the holy Prophet of Islam, Imam Mahdi will emerge at the end of time to establish peace and justice all over the world. 204
