IP (Managua) - Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega has instructed the foreign ministry to sever relations with Israel, announces Vice President Rosario Murillo.

Iran Press/Africa: Nicaragua says the break in relations is due to Israel's genocides on Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, calling "Israel's government 'fascist' and 'genocidal."

Murillo on Friday announced Nicaragua's government decision after the Managua Congress passed a resolution calling for action after the first anniversary of the Gaza war on October 7.

Israeli regime faces international anger after one year of brutal attacks in Gaza and recently in Lebanon.

At least 42,126 people have been killed and 98,117 wounded in Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 2023.

More than 2,100 people were also killed and nearly 10,000 people were wounded in Lebanon mostly after September 23 this year.
