Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah clarified that the majority of the Lebanese, according to surveys, consider that tackling the socioeconomic concerns must be prior to addressing the Resistance arms.
Addressing the Hezbollah election ceremony held simultaneously in the cities of Tyre and Nabatiyeh in southern Lebanon, Nasrallah noted that some political forces want the 2022 parliamentary elections to be a chance to eradicate Hezbollah and its allies.
Nasrallah pointed out that those who demand disarming of the Resistance disregard the Zionist aggression on South Lebanon since 1948, explaining the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s witnessed barbaric Israeli attacks on the Lebanese southern villages.
“Israel displaced the residents of the border towns in the South and carried out a horrible massacre in Hola prior to the establishment of any resistance movement.”
In the 1950s, the Israeli enemy’s army used to invade southern villages and to even kidnap security forces, according to Nasrallah, who added that in the 1960s, ‘Israel’ even bombed the Al-Wazzani project and the state remained silent.”
Nasrallah added that Sayyed Abdul Hussein Charafeddine demanded the Lebanese authorities send the Lebanese army troops in order to protect southern Lebanon, noting that Sayyed Charafeddine's calls remained unanswered.
He noted that Imam Sayyed Moussa Al-Sadr also vainly tried to obtain military assistance from the Lebanese government and Arab countries, adding Sayyed Al-Sadr, then, resorted to the resistance choice regardless of the government's stance.
Sayyed Al-Sadr also prioritized the eradication of ‘Israel’ and Al-Quds and the Palestinian cause, according to Hezbollah Secretary-General.
“Imam al-Sadr stressed that self-defense and dignity are part of a human’s decision that does not need permission from the state,” he stated, noting that “until today, Hezbollah didn’t dare to say what Imam al-Sadr used to say about ‘Israel’.”
Nasrallah pointed out that the Lebanese Shia scholar has always defended Lebanon against eh Israeli enemy without challenging the state sovereignty, adding, however, that the state abandoned the southerners.
Nasrallah maintained that those who call for disarming the Resistance, though they may never do that, deny its achievements crowned by the 2000 liberation of most of the Lebanese territories which were held by the Zionist enemy.
Nasrallah warned that some Lebanese politicians do not view ‘Israel’ as an enemy and do not believe that it has ambitions regarding Lebanon’s water and gas, recalling one of the Lebanese leaders’ remarks during 2006 dialogue sessions at the parliament.
The Resistance liberated most of the Lebanese territories and the prisoners, according to Nasrallah who added that Hezbollah eliminated the Zionist scheme of establishing the ‘Greater Israel’ and proved that the Israeli occupation army is not invincible.
Nasrallah added that Hezbollah Resistance frustrated the sedition schemes in Lebanon and operates as the main obstacle hindering any Zionist aggression on the country in the future.
In this regard, Nasrallah indicated that the military capabilities of the Lebanese army do not allow its troops to confront the Israeli enemy without the Resistance, questioning the government policy which does not prioritize providing the military with the needed weapons.
Nasrallah affirmed that the Zionist enemy cannot attack Lebanon, thanks to the Resistance's readiness to confront it, adding that, nevertheless, Hezbollah is ready to discuss the defense strategy with the other political forces.
Nasrallah doubted that any of the Lebanese officials can decide to strike the Israeli settlements if ‘Israel’ attacks Lebanon, asking whether the Lebanese army can assume this responsibility at the current moment.
Nasrallah called on the Lebanese authorities to start the offshore oil extraction project, warning the Israeli enemy against preventing Lebanon from benefiting from its resources.
“If ‘Israel’ prevents Lebanon from investing its offshore gas resources, Hezbollah will prevent the Zionists from carrying out similar projects.”
In this concern, Nasrallah illustrated that Lebanon’s socioeconomic crisis is severe to the extent that the only way to cope with it is by extracting offshore gas, adding that Hezbollah protects Lebanon’s offshore resources from Israeli Infringement.
Nasrallah reiterated that Hezbollah will not intervene in the demarcation of the maritime borders with the Zionist entity, warning the Lebanese government against the US conspiracies in this regard.
Nasrallah questioned the integrity of the US mediator in the indirect talks between Lebanon and the Zionist enemy, adding that Washington is obliged to contact the Lebanese officials to protect the Israeli interests for fear of Hezbollah power.
Nasrallah reassured the Lebanese officials that the Resistance can prevent any company from operating in the Karish field if the Israeli enemy prevents Lebanon from investing its offshore resources.
Hezbollah Secretary-General warned the pro-US political forces in Lebanon that Washington wants Lebanon to acknowledge ‘Israel’ existence, normalize ties with the occupation entity, and naturalize the Palestinian and Syrian refugees. stressing that the US orders are endless.
Nasrallah indicated that the 2006 War launched by the Zionist enemy on Lebanon aimed at disarming the Resistance and the 2022 parliamentary elections are seen by some Lebanese political forces as a chance to disarm the Resistance.
2022 elections represent a political recurrence of the 2006 war on Hezbollah Resistance, Nasrallah concluded.
Nasrallah called on the Resistance supporters to participate heavily in the parliamentary elections, scheduled to be held on May 15, to achieve a political victory that complements the military triumph reached over the enemy in 2006.
The Resistance in Lebanon is the humanitarian legacy of the Lebanese southerners and can never be eradicated, Nasrallah affirmed.
Hezbollah Secretary-General announced that Hezbollah has raised its military alert to follow up on the Zionist maneuvers which started on Monday.
Nasrallah indicated that Hezbollah Resistance forces will be ready to respond to any Zionist fault or attack, reiterating that ‘Israel’ is weaker than a spider web.
Nasrallah had started his speech by welcoming the massive crowds and thanked them for their heavy participation, adding that he wished he could address the ceremony in person.
