Iran Press/ Asia: On the initiative of Imam Khomeini, the Founder of the Islamic Revolution, the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awl (Sunni tradition) to the 17th of Rabi-ul-Awl (Shia tradition) has been named Unity Week.
Sheikh Imran, a Shia cleric living in Baku, in an interview with Iran Press reporter about the importance of Islamic unity, stated that according to the narrations of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Muslims are like one body, and Muslims are brothers and support each other against enemies.
This cleric and religious expert underlined that Imam Khomeini has a historical saying that the enemy does not look at the quality of prayer, whether it is prayed with open or closed hands, but rather the enemy thinks of cutting off the hands of Muslims.
He noted that, in reality, today, the enemy is seeking to destroy pure and authentic Muhammadan Islam and is seeking to destroy the unity and kindness between Shias and Sunnis, but the enemy will fail.
He explained that commemorating Unity Week means that Muslims should be united and be strong against enemies and show endurance and stability.
