Iran Press/ Iran News: The Movement of Professors of Universities of Tehran issued a statement in support of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) on Tuesday on the sidelines of a massive gathering of collegiates to commemorate Lieutenant General Soleimani, those lost their lives during his funeral and the victims of the Ukrainian plane crash, held in Tehran.
According to the statement, the Movement of Professors of Universities of Tehran considers the IRGC as the thorn in the eyes of the enemies of the Iranian nation. The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has always been acting as one of the principles of the defensive strategies of the Islamic Republic system in playing the major role in taking care of the nation as the well as protecting the oppressed and the have-nots and has been standing so firmly and never has succumbed to the enemies.
The statement expressed solidarity and sympathy with the grieving and mourning families of those lost their lives during the funeral of martyr Soleimani in Kerman and also the Iranian and non-Iranian casualties of the Ukrainian passenger plane accident.
It added that the Movement of Professors of Universities of Tehran decisively condemns the evil actions of those who want to disturb the order and the security of the country.
On January 8, 2020, the Boeing 737-800 plane belonging to Ukraine International Airlines crashed near Tehran minutes after the take-off from Imam Khomeini Airport. All the 176 passengers and its crew members were killed in the crash.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran said in a statement on Saturday that the Ukrainian passenger plane which crashed was targeted unintentionally in a tragic accident due to human error.
