Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Minister of Sports and Youth said that the Iranian athletes would be sent to the Tokyo Olympics in less than a month in stages.

Iran PressIran news: In an interview with Iran Press News Agency on Tuesday, Masoud Soltanifar explaining the evaluation of Iranian sports teams for the Tokyo Olympics, said that they have been training for the last three years.

The Minister of Sports and Youth of Iran added: "To participate in the Olympic Games, every country needs to obtain the necessary quota, and Iranian athletes won 65 quotas to participate in the Tokyo Olympics, which is the highest record in the country's history.

Soltanifar stated that Iran had participated in 16 Olympics, 8 of which were before the Islamic Revolution and the other 8 after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, and won 19 gold medals.

The Minister also expressed hope that Iran has a good record in the Olympics.
