Iran Press/Iran news: Stressing on Iran's capacities in the field of new science and higher education, Minister of Science, Research and Technology of Iran, Mansour Gholami said that these capacities can be compared favorably with other advanced industrialized countries of the world.
Gholami added in an interview with Iran Press: "We can compare our advances to that of other countries, and there are institutions which rank countries according to their published research, and these institutions have confirmed Iran's considerable advance in science and technology year after year."
The minister went on to say: "Our academics and researchers are involved in state-of-the-art research, and are carrying out world-class research, in many areas of science. Institutes which rank countries according to their published research have reported very good and sustainable scientific growth for Iran for many years."
Minister of Science, Gholami reiterated: "Iran was ranked 16th in the world in terms of science production in 2018, which reflects the country's increasingly advanced academic research, right on the 'cutting-edge' of knowledge, pushing the boundaries of science and technology."
"In some fields of science and technology we have done particularly well, such as stem cell research, nanotechnology, and biotechnology, as well as the production of advanced powerful Radars. Iran has done some pioneering and unique work, which is praiseworthy," the minister added. 101/211/207
