Iran Press/Middle East: "There are claims that Beirut port’s warehouse which exploded contained missiles or ammunition for Hezbollah. This claim is completely false and unfair," Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in his televised speech on Friday.
Speaking about the developments in the region and the developments in the country after the explosion of the port of Beirut via video conference, he criticized the efforts of some groups and currents inside and outside Lebanon to deface Hezbollah and accuse the party of being involved in the explosion, saying that political forces and the media started their propaganda from the very first hours of the explosion and claimed that the explosion was related to the stockpile of Hezbollah’s missiles.
"It does not matter to them that the incident is an accident or a fire or that it was planned in advance, what mattered to them is that Hezbollah is to be held accountable for that", Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah noted.
Nasrallah said the purpose behind taking such positions is to incite the Lebanese people against Hezbollah, which is in fact slander.
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah in Lebanon said: "I declare firmly that we do not have any stockpile of weapons or a gun or nitrate in the port."
Nasrallah also proposed tasking the Lebanese Army to hold the investigations into Beirut blast.
Beirut incident must be addressed exceptionally
Secretary-general of the Lebanese Hezbollah said the blast disaster with human, social, and economic consequences must be addressed in a totally exceptional manner.
In his speech on Friday, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah described the Beirut blast as a huge disaster that follows huge and dangerous consequences.
He called for the punishment of all those who participated in the Beirut explosion with justice and truth ruling upon the investigation trial trend, stressing that no fact must be concealed during the investigation process.
Hezbollah's secretary-general called on the government that to act seriously and decisively on the issue so that the nation hopes that the can have a government that can be built on the basis of truth and reality.
Stressing that the incident needs exceptional interaction at all levels, Nasrallah noted that Hezbollah is at the disposal of the Lebanese government and nation with all its institutions, forces, and capabilities.
"We are ready to shelter and provide housing for homeless families," he said.
Investigation soon reveals truth
The secretary-general of Hezbollah said investigations on the Beirut blast will soon reveal that Hezbollah had no explosive material in the port and the incident was a cruel misguidance done against Hezbollah.
He stressed that the investigation is ongoing and the facts will be revealed soon, as it is not complicated.
"Of course, Hezbollah may know what exits in the port of Haifa rather than in the port of Beirut, because these issues are part of the deterrent equation," Nasrallah noted.
Macron's visit to Beirut
Nasrallah referred to the French President Emanuel Macron's visit to Beirut and welcomed any sympathy with Lebanon with the goal of preserving unity and dialogue in Lebanon.
He called the foreign stances on the Beirut's blast positive and considered them as an opportunity for Lebanon to get out of the disaster and the difficult situation it is coping with.
