Iran Press/ Iran news: The ceremony was participated by Acting President Mohammad Mokhber, Minister of Heath Bahram Einollahi, Minister of Energy Ali-Akbar Mehrabian, and the Head of Iran Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami among others.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mohammad Eslami stressed the utilization of nuclear energy in people's daily lives and reported the opening of the first radiation in eastern Iran.
He said that 130 million tons of agricultural products are produced in the country every year, and according to the statistics, 30% of it is wasted, and the remaining 70%, if poisons and pests can be removed, would be a big step for the country's health sector.
Eslami said that 12 radiation poles were developed in the country to remove pests from agricultural products, one of which was opened in Khorasan Razavi today.
He said the development process carried out by the private sector that are the knowledge-based companies which included microwave systems, Gama radiation, and accelerators among others, which Iran either could not purchase due to sanctions or must pay an extravagant piece for it.
By the end of September 20, 8 other radiation centers will have been opened in the country, which will strengthen food health and food productivity in the country, prevent product waste and the growth of pests, and remove obstacles to the export of agricultural products, the head of AEOI reported.
