Tehran (IP) - Two blasts went off among the crowd gathered in the southern city of Kerman at the 4th anniversary of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani on Wednesday afternoon, Two terrorist blasts in Iran’s southeastern city of Kerman have left 95 people dead and 211 more injured, According to Kerman Province Emergency Organization.

Local reporters in Kerman fear mounting Casualties. Tasnim Reporter at the one of hospitals of Kerman said it is estimated that more than 200 people were killed in the incident.

Up to 17:40 local time, according to the head of Kerman's emergency service, the explosions left 95 people dead and at least 211 more injured in two explosions at the 4th anniversary of former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani in the Iranian city of Kerman.

Medical services said the death toll is expected to rise as ambulances were taking the wounded to hospitals, with Babak Yektaparast, deputy head of Iran's Emergency Organization, saying that some of the injured are in critical condition.

The first explosion occurred at 14:50 local time, and the second took place 15 minutes later. Some people were injured during a crowd crush following the first explosion. 

The explosions occurred near the burial site of martyred Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, where people had flocked to mark his fourth martyrdom anniversary.

The first explosion occurred some 700 meters from the grave of General Soleimani and the second one about one kilometer away.

According to the unnamed security sources, two bomb-laden suitcases that were detonated by remote control caused the explosions.

Explosions were reported on the path leading to Kerman's Cemmetry of Martyrs on the fourth anniversary of the martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

Thousands of people were at the cemetery marking the fourth anniversary of his death.

Reza Fallah, head of the Kerman province Red Crescent told IRIB "Our rapid response teams are evacuating the injured" but waves of crowds blocking roads."

Kerman security chief Rahman Jalali confirmed to state media that “the blasts were caused by terrorist attacks.”

Iran’s Red Crescent Society said three rescuers were killed by the second blast.

Some people were injured during a crowd crush following the first explosion. Officials say all the injured have been transferred to hospitals and the situation is under control.
