Iran Press/ Iran News: The press conference of the Iranian president's special envoy on Afghanistan affairs was held at the Center for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the eve of the one-year anniversary of the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan, with the aim of explaining the situation and expressing policies regarding the White House's long-term strategies.
Monday (August 15) was the first anniversary of the Taliban government coming to power in Afghanistan.
On August 15, 2021, the Taliban group came to power in this country by ousting the government of the then President of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, and the American military withdrew from Afghanistan after 20 years of occupation, at the end of this month.
According to Iran Press, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, The Iranian president's special envoy on Afghanistan affairs, said at a press conference one year after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan: "One year has passed since the pre-planned escape of the US from Afghanistan, the US has definitely failed in this country, but this escape means It is intangibly presence there and it pursues its goals in Afghanistan."
Kazemi Qomi added: "The military has left, but the spying and subversive service of the White House is still there."
The Iranian president's special envoy on Afghanistan affairs also said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has followed a policy of interaction with the Taliban on the basis of supporting the people of Afghanistan, which is accompanied by several general considerations and will not recognize the government until a participatory and inclusive government is formed, and the Islamic Republic has interacted with the Taliban, but it has not recognized it."
Kazemi Qomi considered the issue of water rights, border security, the fight against drugs and terrorism to be among the considerations of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the Taliban and said: "With the passage of a year, we have achieved a significant part of those goals with these policies."
