Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at a weekly press conference on Tuesday and answering Iran Press correspondent over Canada's recent anti-Iranian measure, the spokesman for Iran's Judiciary Gholamhussein Esmaeili described Canada's recent move in selling the properties belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran as 'economic terrorism' and an illegal action which is a clear breach of international laws, reported Iran Press.
Esmaeili described the Canadian government's move as ‘irrational’, stressing that the Foreign Ministry in coordination with the country's Prosecutor General has started international legal proceedings against the Canadian government to stop it selling Iranian-government owned properties.
The Judiciary spokesman further warned: "If our legal action does not succeed, we will reciprocate the measure by seizing and selling off Canadian government-owned properties in Iran."
The Canadian government has recently gifted some $30 million of Iranian assets to the victims of various terrorist attacks, with Iran categorically rejecting any link or involvement in any of the terror attacks.

The victims have received a share of the money obtained through the sale of two Iranian-owned buildings in Ottawa and Toronto, according to a document filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in August.
Iran has denied having any role in the attacks which the Canadian courts have based their cases upon to confiscate Iran's frozen assets.
Tehran had argued that the victims had to prove Iran’s role or involvement in each attack instead of just repeating the baseless and unsubstantiated US government allegations against Tehran.
Guaranteeing security of women
“The bill of ‘protecting women’s dignity and providing security for them against violence’ has been sent back to the government,” said Esmaeili, adding, “The plan, which had been sent to the Judiciary branch to inspect its legal aspects, is completely domestic and in accordance with Iranian and Islamic culture.”
This bill includes: providing women's security, family maintenance, preventing aggression and violence against women and protecting women which are at risk of violence.
Over 30 people arrested in connection with Ahvaz Terror attacks
Regarding the case of Ahvaz’s terrorist attack, the Spokesman for Iran's Judiciary said there are two aspects to this case. Firstly, part of the blame lies with members of the security forces who have been negligent or have failed to carry out their duties fully. A special committee of the armed forces has been set up to examine cases of possible negligence of members of the armed forces.
Gholamhussein Esmaeili added: "The second aspect of this case is that Iran's Intelligence Ministry has identified and arrested over 30 individuals in connection with the Ahvaz terror attacks, most of them are locals living in Khuzestan province. These 30 individuals, who have been taken into custody will be tried in a court of law in the near future. Special arrangements have been made to give top priority to this case."
