Iran Press/Asia: According to the Iran Press news agency, the Japanese government spokesman expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad, calling for an end to violence and compliance with international law.
Japanese government spokesman Yoshimasa Hayashi said at a press conference on Monday that Tokyo was following developments in Syria with concern and hoped that the fundamental rights of the Syrian people would be preserved in light of the current developments.
"We will continue to work closely with the international community to resolve the Syrian crisis,” he added.
Armed opposition groups in Syria launched a massive attack on Syrian army positions in various parts of the country on November 27, 2024, with the support of some countries, and Damascus finally fell on Sunday.
