Former Iran ambassador to China Mohammad-Hossein Malaek

Tehran (IP) - Former Iran's ambassador to China Mohammad-Hossein Malaek said that Iran-China relations have ardent opponents such as Israel and the United States who have shown their objection on the Iran-China ties.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's former ambassador to Beijing stated that China is now looking to form a coalition, so for China, Iran is geopolitically significant, he emphasized.

The former envoy went on to say that the Iran-China document of cooperation is not related to US sanctions.

Malaek noted that Iran will have more balanced ties with China.

The former ambassador to china said as this document helps put Iran's relations with a major country in the world in a regular context which is a turning point in Iran's foreign policy.

Delivering a speech at a forum on Iran-China 25 year document of cooperation, Iran's former ambassador to China made the remarks that in the 25 years Iran-China document if Chinese side is to invest in Iran's projects, their investment will not be examined year after year, but they must continue to operate under a trusted framework for a long time.

Mohammad-Hossein Malaek said that if Iran and China want to invest, we must have long-term agreements with companies so that we can both fulfill our commitments and benefits as well.

As a clear roadmap for future relations between Tehran and Beijing, on June 21, 2020, the final draft of the 25-year plan for the Comprehensive Document on Cooperation between Iran and China was approved by Iran's Government, which covers all areas, including oil, gas, and electronics.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, regarding the 25-year deal between Iran and China, said: "According to the 2015 agreement between the Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the People's Republic of China, Hassan Rouhani and Xi Jinping, which is reflected in the sixth paragraph of the statement of the visit of Chinese President to Tehran, the two countries explicitly expressed their political will to develop and deepen the strategic relationship."
