Iran Press/ Middle East: Israel’s total closure of the Erez checkpoint, the only crossing for people between Gaza and Israel, entered today Friday, its fourth day in a row.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, around 430 Palestinians and their companions, most of whom are cancer patients, have been prevented from leaving Gaza to receive medical care at hospitals in the occupied territories since Tuesday, in addition to 27 patients in need of life-saving treatment.
The European Union has described Israel's indiscriminate bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip as "intolerable," calling on Tel Aviv to prevent civilian casualties.
Meanwhile, the Palestine Red Crescent Society called on international organizations to pressure Israel to open a humanitarian corridor to allow the entry of medical supplies and humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.
Additionally, Israeli occupation shut down the Kerem Shalom border, the only port of entry and exit for commodities into and out of Gaza. This prevented fuel from entering Gaza’s sole power plant.
Israel started a new wave of violence on Tuesday dawn, May 9, 2023, against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, striking several homes, lands, and sites.
So far, the Israeli deadly raids murdered 31 Palestinians, including 4 women and 6 children, across the besieged Gaza Strip.
