Iran Press/ Middle East: Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi said that the session will be held on Monday, as four Iraqi parliamentarians resigned on Sunday in anger at the government’s perceived failure to respond to protests, piling more pressure on embattled Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi.
The police chief in Basra province, meanwhile, reiterated Sunday that the Zionist regime, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are working to disrupt peace and stability in Iraq.
The Iraqi Hezbollah battalions also recently announced that the US government and the Israeli regime are involved in recent unrest in Iraq, as they are fundamentally opposed to Baghdad's policies.
