Karachi (IP) - The Iranian president's upcoming visit to Pakistan has been marked by a public holiday declaration in the city of Karachi for April 23.

Iran PressAsia: The visit, scheduled from April 22 to April 24, will include a stop at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, as confirmed by diplomatic sources.

Commissioner Karachi Division announced the public holiday in a notification, citing the arrival of foreign dignitaries. All private and government offices and educational institutions in the Karachi Division will be closed on April 23.

During his visit, President Ebrahim Raisi is expected to meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, with a lunch banquet hosted by the prime minister. The Iranian president will also hold meetings with the chairman of the Senate, the speaker of the National Assembly, and various ministers.

An evening meeting with President Asif Zardari is also planned. On Tuesday, Raisi will travel to Lahore, where he will meet with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman. A lunch hosted by the Punjab governor is also on the agenda. The Iranian president will then proceed to Karachi, where he will have meetings with the Chief Minister of Sindh and the Governor of Sindh.
