Istanbul (IP) - Iran's para-taekwondo fighter won a gold medal at the 2021 World Championships in Turkey.

Iran PressAsia: In the final, Mehdi Purrahnama defeated Olympic and world champion Diego Garcia Lopez of Mexico, the holder of gold and silver at the US and European Championships, 3-0. 

Purrahnama's medal was the second medal of the Iranian team in the 2021 World Para-taekwondo Championship in Turkey. 

Mahtab Nabavi, the Iranian female para-athlete, snatched the gold medal of the 9th 2021 World Para-Taekwondo Championship competitions underway in Istanbul today. 

The ninth Istanbul 2021 World Para-Taekwondo Championships kicked off on Saturday in Turkey's Istanbul and is underway for two days.
