The chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission rejected some European countries’ claims on the Islamic Republic’s missile program.

Iran Press/Iran news: Heshmatollah Falahat Pishe slammed the EU’s recent statement about the financial mechanism for trade with Iran, known as the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX), in which the bloc criticized the Islamic Republic’s ballistic missile tests.

Falahat Pishe made the remarks in an interview with to Tasnim News Agency.

In eight clauses of the statement on the INSTEX, the Europeans have raised 'empty claims' about Iran's missile program, the lawmaker deplored.

“We should not allow them to interfere in Iran's internal affairs, including its missile and defense program,” he went on to say.

On Thursday, Iran unveiled an underground precision ballistic missiles plant belonging to the Aerospace Division of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Iran has repeatedly dismissed the statements, saying its missile program is not negotiable as part of efforts to preserve the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), an international deal on the country’s nuclear activities which has suffered as a result of a decision last year by the United States to unilaterally withdraw from the agreement. 

On Feb 04, Seyyed Hossein Naghavi Hosseini in an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency said that Iran won't accept any condition for INSTEX implementation.

On January 31, German, British and French foreign ministers in a news briefing in Bucharest officially announced registration of the European special financial mechanism known as the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX).

Part of the E3 joint statement reads that the INSTEX will function under the highest international standards with regards to anti-money laundering, combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) and EU and UN sanctions compliance. In this respect, the E3 expect Iran to swiftly implement all elements of its FATF action plan.

The E3 underline their commitment to pursue further development of INSTEX with interested European countries to make this instrument in support of trade exchanges with Iran operational by following the steps set out above.105/201
